BotIntelli — Forgot Password User Guide

This guide covers the full Forgot Password flow: how to request a password-reset email and how to set a new password using the link in that email.


Overview of the Journey

  1. Request reset link — You enter your email and click “Send Reset Link.” BotIntelli sends an email with a secure link.
  2. Open the reset link — You click the link in the email. It opens the app on the Reset Password screen (with the link’s token).
  3. Set new password — You enter a New Password and Confirm New Password, then click “Reset Password.”
  4. Sign in — After success, you use “Back to Sign In” and sign in with your new password.

Where to start

  • From the Sign In page, click “Forgot password?” (above the Sign In button).
    Or go directly to:
    https://app.botintelli.com/forgot-password
    (this redirects to the same form as https://app.botintelli.com/?mode=forgot).

Step-by-step

  1. You see the “Forgot Password” form with the message: “Enter your email to receive a reset link.”
  2. In the Email Address field, enter the same email address you use to sign in to BotIntelli.
  3. Click “Send Reset Link.”
  4. If the request succeeds:
    • A green success message appears, e.g. “Password reset link sent. Please check your email.”
    • Check the inbox (and spam/junk folder) for an email from BotIntelli.
  5. If you see an error:
    • Read the message (e.g. “Failed to send reset email” or “Unable to send reset link”).
    • Confirm the email is correct and try again. If it still fails, try again later or contact support.

Validation: If the email format is wrong, you’ll see “Please enter a valid email.” Correct the format and submit again.

  • Click “Back to Sign In” if you want to return to the sign-in form.
  • Do not share the reset link with anyone; it is tied to your account and should be used only by you.

  1. Open your email and find the password reset message from BotIntelli.
  2. Click the reset link in the email.
    • It will look similar to:
      https://app.botintelli.com/?mode=reset&token=...
    • The token part is required; do not delete or change it.
  3. Your browser opens the BotIntelli app. You should see the “Reset Password” form with the title “Set a new password for your account.”
    • If you see “Invalid reset link” or “Missing token,” the link may be broken or expired. Request a new reset link from the Forgot Password page.

Part 3: Set Your New Password

What you see

  • Title: “Reset Password”
  • Subtitle: “Set a new password for your account.”
  • Two fields: New Password and Confirm New Password.
  • Buttons: “Reset Password” and “Back to Sign In.”

Step-by-step

  1. New Password

    • Enter your new password.
    • Rule: at least 8 characters.
    • For stronger security, use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols (similar to sign-up rules).
  2. Confirm New Password

    • Enter the exact same password again.
  3. Click “Reset Password.”

  4. If it succeeds:

    • A green message appears, e.g. “Password reset successful. Please sign in with your new password.”
    • The form may switch back to Sign In mode. Click “Back to Sign In” if you need to see the sign-in form.
  5. If you see an error:

    • “Invalid reset link. Missing token.” — Use the link from the email again, or request a new reset link from the Forgot Password page.
    • “Passwords don’t match” — Make sure Confirm New Password matches New Password exactly.
    • “Password must be at least 8 characters” — Use a longer password.
    • “Unable to reset password” / “Failed to reset password” — The link may have expired. Request a new reset link and try again.

Part 4: Sign In With Your New Password

  1. After a successful reset, go to the Sign In form (use “Back to Sign In” if you’re still on the Reset Password screen).
  2. Enter your email (same as before).
  3. Enter your new password (the one you just set).
  4. Click “Sign In.”
    If 2FA is enabled, enter your 6-digit code when prompted.

Troubleshooting

Security tips

  • Use the reset link only once and only in your own browser.
  • Do not share the link or your new password with anyone.
  • Prefer a strong new password (e.g. 8+ characters with letters and numbers, or more).
